| Gastric ulcer, benign (ulcer in stomach which has no cancer. Associated with pain or bleeding) |

Remove a portion of stomach around the ulcer to be removed or removal of 1/2 to 2/3rds of the stomach with reconnection to the small intestine. |

SIDE EFFECTS- reduction in volume of food that can be consumed. Weight loss expected. COMPLICATIONS - leakage of the connection between stomach and intestine. Obstruction of the connection preventing food from leaving the stomach. |
