Remove obstructed intestine, divide adhesions obstruction intestine or bypass obstruction.

Remove diseased intestine and reconnect the remaining, or lyse (divide) adhesions

Laparoscopic small bowel resection or Laparoscopic lysis of adhesions.

3-5 days (depending on the type of obstruction)

SIDE EFFECTS - Diarrhea if large section of intestines are removed. COMPLICATIONS - Bleeding, leakage at the site of connection of remaining intestine, and infection.
