Prevent rectum from protruding out through the anus.

  Treatment
 
Anchor rectum within the abdomen by using a "mesh sling" to prevent the prolapse. Might require removing a portion of rectum and sigmoid colon.
  Procedure
 

Laparoscopic mesh suspesion of rectum, possible laparoscopic sigmoid resection.

SIDE EFFECTS - None. COMPLICATIONS - Leakage at site of bowel connection of colon is removed. Stricture caused by scar tissue at the site of connection.
